Q: What is the benefit of the Crabtree Valley Mall Santa reservation system?

A: In the past, Santa has experienced long lines at times and that is no fun for anyone. The appointment scheduler enables you to avoid these lines and offers a relaxed stress-free experience for all visitors.

Q: Can I still just show up and wait in a line to see Santa?

A: Yes, you have the option to either schedule an appointment that works with your schedule, or just show up and wait in the standby line. From December 10 through December 23, we highly recommend that all visits with Santa are scheduled through the appointment scheduler due to the large volume of children who wish to see Santa.

Q: Is there a cost to make an appointment with Santa?

A: The appointment-booking portal requires a $20 deposit when you book your appointment. Your deposit includes your visit with Santa and one 5x7 portrait or a credit towards a photo purchase over the amount of the deposit. There is no cash back at the photo set.

Q: What if I need to change my appointment after I book it?

A: When you book your appointment, you will create an account in the system. If you need to change your appointment, simply log into your account VIA THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL and do so. Please keep in mind that you may only rebook your appointment while time slots remain available.

Q: Can I cancel my appointment?

A: We cannot offer a refund for cancellations or no-shows. If you need to change your appointment time, please log in to your account and change your appointment while time slots are still available. Do not cancel then rebook a new appointment because you will have to pay again. We cannot transfer payments.

Q: What if my child gets sick?

A: If your child is sick on the day of their appointment, you should call 919-698-7749 at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment. While we cannot guarantee that we can reschedule your appointment, we will make every effort to accommodate you on another day if possible. Please understand that due to the large volume of people that wish to visit with Santa, this is a one-time option and may not be available for every day. This option should only be used if your child is truly ill. 

Q: When should I arrive for my appointment?

A: We ask that families check in 5 to 10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time. Please plan ahead and leave time to park.

Q: What if I am running late for my appointment?

A: If you are more than five minutes late for your scheduled appointment, we may need to reschedule your appointment for another day. Towards the end of the season, we may not be able to rebook your appointment at all. Please understand there are many people who visit Santa each year and the appointment system relies on everyone being on time to ensure a great experience.

Q: When will Santa be available for visits in 2016?

A: Santa's 2016 hours are as follows:

November 19 - December 2

Monday - Saturday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm (Break 1:00PM-1:30PM, 5:00PM-6:00PM)

Sunday: 12:00 noon - 6:00 pm (Break:  3:00PM-3:30PM)

Exception: Santa is not available on Thanksgiving Day

Q: What time does Santa take his break?

A: Santa generally breaks for milk and cookies from 1:00 - 1:30 pm and from 5:00 - 6:00 pm daily. Santa is not available during these breaks, and the times are blacked out on the booking website.

Q: Do I need to make an appointment for Christmas Eve this year?

A: No, visits with Santa on Christmas Eve will continue to be first come, first served. Santa will leave promptly at 6:00 pm to prepare for his big night.

Q:How much do photos cost?

A: Your first 5x7 photo is included in your deposit. Additional photo sheets start at $8.95. USB sticks and items such as holiday frames are also available for purchase.

Q: Can we use our personal camera or video recorder when we visit Santa?

A: No, the use of personal cameras and video recorders is not permitted. We ask that you leave them at home or in your purse/pocket during your visit.

Q: Can pets visit Santa?

A: Yes. Monday, November 28, Monday, December 5 and Sunday, December 11 from 5:00 pm - close are Claus and Paws Pet Photo nights. An appointment is recommended. We ask that you limit your pet photos to well behaved, leashed people-friendly pets. You can make an appointment for your pet(s) at www.crabtree-valley-mall/santa.

Q: Will there be other special photo opportunities with Santa this year?

A: Yes. December 4 is Military Day and Monday, December 12 is Grandparents Day. You can make an appointment for your either of these special days by visiting www.crabtree-valley-mall/santa.

Q: Are there restrooms available at the photo set?

A: No, however there are restrooms close by Santa's house. Please arrive dressed for your photo and/or use one of the public restrooms at Crabtree Valley Mall to do so.
